THE SWAP SHOP

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1: Bring 1 of your finest items including shoes, clothes and accessories to the United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network Annual Meeting to be collected at the entrance of the conference room between 12:45pm and 1:30pm.

Items shall be screened to ensure a quality experience. Each item accepted will receive a credit in exchange. The credit is your currency for the swap. If your item is not suitable for swapping you can either take it back or leave with us to recycle.

STEP 2: After item drop off, the team takes your garment to be displayed, whilst you enjoy the meeting.

STEP 3: During the United Nations Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network Annual Meeting reception, you can browse the swap and select your new item between 6:15pm and 7:30pm.

Once you have chosen your item, go to the check out and exchange your credit. You have managed to update your wardrobe guilt free without spending a penny!

WHY SWAP?

Swapping is a great way to let your items live for their full potential - you may be bored of the items but others may find joy in your items. Through swaps, you can find this season ' s trends as trends are cyclical. Whilst the planet' s resources are finite, your creativity and style are limitless. Have a constantly changing wardrobe without buying new. Global clothing production has approximately doubled in the past 15 years whereas clothing usage has decreased by about 36% in that same period. Developed countries are the worst offenders (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2017) - we can 't continue as business as usual.

RULES OF THE SWAP

Please only bring one item.  Items should be clean, folded or pressed. Items should be of good quality with a long potential lifespan. Items likely to be valued by others – ask yourself, would I be happy to give this item to a friend? Items should be free of faults or with minor faults that are easy to repair (for example, a missing button). No underwear or swimwear. Ultimate discretion is ours as to whether or not items are accepted into the swap. If your items are not accepted into our swap, we will facilitate recycling for you through our chosen partner if you choose not to take back the item.
