About the event
On April 21, Hewing Hotel, LUUM collective, FR8 Clothing and Global Fashion Exchange host The Hewing XChange: Earth Day Edition, a clothing swap and conscious shopping event in partnership with Fashion Revolution USA.
Aliging with UN Sustainable Development Goal 12, Responsible Production and Consumption, The Hewing XChange creates awarnes through swapping and sharing gently used items and local, artisan and made-by-hand products to celebrate earth day and encoudage mindful consumption.
SWAP - To join the swap, guests will be asked to contribute up to 10 items with a suggested retail value of $20 or more. One token exchanged for each item contributed. Items can be dropped off at the Hewing Hotel on the following days or the day of the day of the event starting at 11AM.
April 18-19 from 4:30 - 7pm
April 21 from 11am - 3 pm
To close the loop on waste, all unswapped will be reclaimed and repurposed by local woman own business FR8 Clothing or donated to Arc Value Village ensuring that the spirit of Earth Day extends beyond the event.
SHOP - Shop from local vendors offering consciously created and ethical fashion and homeware finds. Join us 11am - 3pm, and support talented artists and curators, while finding incredible items that you'll feel good about purchasing! Get expert advice on building an eco-friendly closet that reflects your style with Kenny Washington of Black Nvni Vintage.
UPCYCLE STUDIO - Learn how to transform old clothes into trendy new pieces with FR8 Clothing.
1 - Bring up to 10 items, new or gently-loved goods, that you no longer use to exchange for a new-to-you item. These items must be in good condition, clean, and will be vetted for quality before entering swap. Suggested value of $20 or higher.
2 - Drop off your items anytime at Hewing Hotel between 4 - 7 PM on 4/18, 4/19 OR bring items to the event 4/21 from 11 - 12 pm. You’ll be provided a ticket for each of your items to exchange for something new to you on April 21st.
3 - Join us on Sunday, April 21st to shop the swap and use your tickets for new to you items. RSVP for updates and details on swap drops and prizes for participation. Swap opens at 12 pm!
Suggested Items: Jewelry, accessories, handbags, high-quality clothing items, home accessories, vintage gems, or giftable items that you haven’t quite found use for.
